課程簡介 Sex and gender are not only important issues in current literary and cultural discourses in the West but also essential lessons in our daily lives. This course intends to read, analyze, and discuss historically and systematically, from the perspectives of sex and gender, representative Western literary works and cultural phenomena as well as introduce pertinent contemporary literary and cultural theories in order that the students, at the end of the course, will better realize the crucial roles sex and gender play in the history of human civilization, in literary and cultural representations and in their daily lives.

二、教學大綱

教學進度與主題


  教學目標:性/別(sex/gender)是目前西方學術界當相重要的論述潮流,更是人生在世應修的基本課題。本課程擬以性(sex)、性別(gender)為切入點,有系統地帶領同學研讀、討論從古希臘羅馬時期到二十世紀中西方具代表性的相關經典作品與文化現象,並介紹當代相關的重要文學/文化理論,希冀同學在修完本課程後對性/別論述在人類文明中的演化、在文學作品中的呈現、以及在現實生活中的實踐能有通盤性的理解與省思。

二 教材內容:

本課程將以授課老師選輯的影印教材為主,另以Literature and Gender1996)為輔
