課程簡介 本課程的內容討論荷治時期臺灣的研究，討論內容以歷史、語言與文化為主。除了荷蘭時代以外，也採用西班牙時代、中國明朝對Formosa的文獻，日本歷史與台灣的交流。本課程採用全英語授課。資料來源為中文，英文，荷蘭文，日文等(以培養學生的語言能力)。
課程目標 對應系所核心能力
1.　認識荷治台灣歷史學 博士:
　1-5 具有跨國或跨語言的比較能力
　1-6 將台灣文化、語言及文學轉化為母語教學、鄉土教學、或是國際交流與跨文化翻譯的活動
2.　運用荷治台灣文化的英文/外文資料 博士:
　2-1 具有使用檔案、文獻、文本的能力
　2-3 具有三種以上的語言能力(中文、英文、日文、台語、客語、原住民語言)
　2-5 具有分析、組織、書寫能力，將資料轉化為論文、簡報、調查報告
3.　欣賞荷治台灣的大要主題 博士:
　3-1 具有多元文化適應能力
　3-2 具有專業反思能力
