課程簡介	This course is to introduce students Chinese literature in English, and more importantly, the English perspectives that have shaped the imagined images of the Chinese, and the Oriental in general. Translation plays an essential role when source language has been replaced by the target language; replacement implies transformation, and transformation suggests belief, power, betrayal, twist, communication, aestheticism, and the like, all of which will be broached in light of postcolonialism and orientatism. This class is about Chinese literature from the perspectives of the global communities.
