課程簡介	This is an introductory course of education in Taiwan. In this course I aim to introduce the Taiwan education system and teach you to think critically about issues and debates in contemporary education policy in Taiwan. Class discussions will explore the sociocultural tensions between key policy goals such as quality, equity, and efficiency, and the results (including unintended consequences) of those tensions. We will also examine the theory and research brought to bear on educational issues and policy debates. In addition, we will compare these issues and debates in Taiwan with those in countries around the globe. By the conclusion of this class, you should be able to communicate effectively regarding your thinking on Taiwan education issues with others.
