課程簡介	The educational objective of this course is to impart the scientific foundations of Early Renaissance Italian Architecture. The course will provide an introduction, focusing initially the starting point in Florentine humanistic culture, and analyzing then works of the main protagonists of this period and region: Filippo Brunelleschi, Michelozzo di Bartolomeo, and Leon Battista Alberti. Subsequently, we shall consider the spreading of Early Renaissance concepts and models all over Italy, taking into account the various important cultural centres, such as Urbino, Rimini, Mantua, Ferrara, Milan, Venice, Naples and Rome. Students are expected to be capable of analyzing independently the buildings using the correct terminology. In interpreting and discussing essential texts on the topic, they should acquire a problem-based competence to use established and appropriate methodological analysis and are expected to be capable of working autonomously on scientific papers on architectural topics.
