課程簡介	現代主義運動，帶動了新建築的發展，也致使廿世紀的建築有了全新的可能。工業革命之後所啟動的，不僅僅是生產與製造的工業化，也不僅僅是資本的集中以及資本量的大幅成長。整個十九世紀的發展都是為了邁向一個全新的紀元，營建材料的開發、營建技術的發展、空間概念的突破，開創新的建築面貌以及新的建築歷史。 這個將近兩百年的建築發展，影響了廿世紀的建築教育，並且提供養分，供給新的世代的建築新發展。本課程將就十九、廿世紀的建築發展的歷史脈絡進行梳理，學生將由本課程理解今日其所進行的建築設計之來源。
