課程簡介	The aim of this course is to follow the progress of the arts & crafts movement from its beginnings in the second half of the nineteenth century and its spreading all over Europe and North America in the following period lasting well into the 20th century. We shall ask for the reasons of the new movement’s origins as well as for its leading goals and investigate respective sources. Case studies will be used to follow the ideas of progressive artists, architects and designers. Moreover, excerpts from some important texts showing the movement’s sources and aims (for example John Ruskin) will be read and analysed together.
