課程簡介	This graduate-level course will introduce students to second language reading and writing, including theory, research, and practical applications in the field. The class will be conducted in a seminar format and students are expected to lead as well as actively participate in class discussion. Students will also have opportunities to further explore an issue of their interest in a final written assignment. The reading materials will include empirical studies as well as book chapters. This course is designed to explore the nature of writing, methods and techniques of teaching ESL/EFL writing as well as assessment of writing, feedback, and revising. Also included in the course content are issues regarding syllabus design and building of a writing curriculum. The instructor hopes with reading thinking on all the topics in the course , the teachers on completing the course can be equipped with better expertise of teaching ESL/EFL writing and the ability to teach reflectively. The class is conducted as lecture/discussion. A reading packet will be compiled as a major text for this course. The reading materials in the packet will include book chapters and articles on ESL/EFL writing. We will read, analyze, and discuss a couple of articles in each meeting.
