課程簡介	The aim of this course is to introduce students to some of the texts on which Matthiessen built his argument, and which continue to stand at the core of the Americanist curriculum, as well as with the work of contemporaneous writers we now recognize as having played an equally central role in the development of American literature around the middle of the 19th century.
