課程簡介	The major objective of this course is to inform students of second language acquisition research that can provide insights into second language teaching. However, as a preparation for the discussion of second language acquisition, we will begin with a brief introduction to some prominent features and theories of child first language development. The rest of the semester will then be devoted to discussion on the learning and teaching of a second language. The students are expected to become better able to analyze and evaluate the appropriateness of specific second language instructional practices based on second language acquisition theories and research.
