課程簡介	Negotiation has been recognized as one of the crucial skills in today’s global village. It is also an art of communicating and exchanging different ideas from interlocutors of various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This course will prepare students to acquire and further sharpen their skills of negotiation not only academically in which multiple requirements can be met, but also professionally in the fields of business, communication and education. We will learn from various expert negotiators to understand and appreciate the art of negotiation before we explore the difference between negotiating positions and interests. Throughout this course, theories will be exemplified to highlight the six principles of persuading to make our negotiation and communication more effective. We will also answer important questions about several successful international negotiations that can be served as good examples for more inspirations. Students will be encouraged and invited to participate in multiple challenging role plays and skill-building activities to practice the art of asking probing questions and of disagreeing without being too abrupt in their professional lives. Relevant and interactive multimedia resources will be used to enhance the process of our negotiations in class as a venue to practice the techniques for critical thinking and negotiating in today’s multicultural world.
