課程簡介	當今社會面臨許多緊迫的挑戰，包括氣候變化、水資源惡化、森林砍伐、生物多樣性喪失、能源危機、環境難民和環境正義等，這些議題不僅影響到環境的永續，也衝擊到社會的發展，因此，針對環境和社會的相關研究正在學術界中迅速增長。本課程即是以此作為主軸，探討環境的污染與破壞對社會之影響，另一方面，也分析社會文化、政治經濟又如何衝擊到環境的永續，最後提出環境與社會共存共榮的解決之道。 There are many challenges in our current society, including climate change, degradation of water resources, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, energy crisis, and environmental justice. These issues not only affect the environmental sustainability, but also disrupt social development. Therefore, these related studies about environment and society are increasing in academic research. This course is to study the impact of environmental pollution and damage on our society. On the other hand, this course is also to analyze the effect of social culture and political economy on the environmental sustainability. Finally, we try to provide some solutions for co-exist and co-development between environment and society.
