課程簡介	The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the variety of ethical issues in information services institutions they will need to address as information or library professionals. First of all, we give an overall overview of ethical theories and their approach to moral issues and the application to information and library services issues, as well as ethical codes of conduct for the information and library professions, such as Code of Ethics of the American Library Association, American Society for Information Science and Technology Professional Guidelines, Codes of Ethics Online etc. On cases study and discussion, the class will focus on selected particular issues that are most salient to information and library professionals, such as intellectual property, data/information accuracy, personal privacy, privacy preservation, and resources accessibility. Session 1: Information Ethics: An Introduction Session 2: Professional Ethics and Social Responsibility Session 3: Privacy and Information Technologies Session 4: Privacy Preservation Session 5: Intellectual Freedom and Intellectual Property Session 6: Virtual Services: Access and Ownership Session 7: Internet and Encyclopedia: Information Accuracy
