課程簡介 This English-taught course is designed to introduce PhD students to the key concepts, issues, and dilemmas associated with qualitative research. The course will enable students to master the meanings of epistemology, ontology, axiology and methodology in a number of qualitative paradigms (e.g., ethnographies, case study, action research, grounded theory, etc.) as well as honing their skills in analyzing and evaluating qualitative studies. Students will be able to learn about the entire qualitative research process, including creating an appropriate research design, conducting interviews and observations, and analyzing qualitative data. They will have the opportunity to experience the full cycle of a research project independently — from initial design of the project to writing a final report. The course will also present students with a range of ethical considerations involved in conducting qualitative studies.
